The Wandering Earth II

I loved The Wondering Earth II so much that I ended up purchasing a second set—this time for my QK65 MK3.

Originally, I planned to use it only on my ASUS Azoth X, where it already looked amazing. But after installing it on the QK65 MK3, I was genuinely surprised by how well it matched the board. The combination gives the keyboard a beautiful retro-futuristic aesthetic that feels unique, elegant, and fun at the same time.

Beyond the looks, the keycaps feel fantastic. The legends are crisp, the color palette is gorgeous, and the overall build quality is excellent. The profile is very comfortable for long typing sessions, and the sound pairs really well with my current setup (HMX Yogurt S), producing a clean, satisfying typing experience.

This keycap set completely changed the personality of my QK65 MK3. It transformed it from a nice keyboard into one that I genuinely enjoy looking at and typing on every day.

Now I have one set on my ASUS Azoth X and another permanently staying on my QK65 MK3. No regrets at all—definitely one of my favorite keycap sets.

Highly recommended for anyone looking for something different from the usual black, gray, or beige keycap sets. It stands out without being overwhelming, and the overall quality is simply outstanding.

These keycaps look absolutely amazing on my ROG Azoth X — the sound, texture, and overall quality are top‑tier.

I did run into an issue at first because I was using a switch with 3.9mm total travel. On stabilized keys, the feel was never right: sometimes mushy, sometimes sharp, and overall inconsistent.

After switching to a shorter‑travel switch (around 3.7mm total travel), the problem disappeared instantly.

Everything became stable, consistent, and perfectly matched with the KOL profile.

So here’s my recommendation: these keycaps are fantastic, but for stabilized keys, make sure you pair them with switches that have shorter total travel. Deep‑travel switches simply won’t feel correct on long KOL caps.

Once paired with the right switches, the experience is incredible.

This is a really cool keycap set, and the black cladding on the back/side of each key is extremely unique and premium.

I bought this set from Keytok and unfortunately, despite including many alt keys, it does not contain a single key with a stepped stem mount. I bought this set to go with a keyboard case that was literally shown using this set (on KBD Fans, see pic 1) because I thought it was such a cool combo, but unfortunately have had to make a substitute (my compromise in pic 2). Still a really cool set, oh well!
